Spell names, study levels and descriptions were amalgamated from the text in the shadowmere.de help files and the Compendium. The wordings were updated to make the explanations more accurate. Mana usage is a work in progress. Low = effectiveness almost guaranteed with any amount of mana, Medium = spell either inherently needs decent mana or many Kingdoms will carry the appropriate defense, High = spell inherently needs lots of mana and/or most Kingdoms carry appropriate defense, Proportional = depends on what you are doing, Precise = what you put in is directly tied to the result (i.e. Dispel, etc.) Please help! Dive right in and update the files if you are inclined to.
| Study | Spell | Description | Mana Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 101% | Summon Rodents | A horde of rodents infests a kingdom eating food and lowering morale. Winter and Poison Water (1k mana even) is an effective way of ridding yourself of the Summoned Rodents. Rodents summoned are Effects and have no duration. Fighters kill rodents every turn. Rodents eat up to a max of 20% of your stored/excess food per turn, and can grow up to where they started(ie replacing those lost by fighters that turn). The amount PW/winter kills seems to be about 1/2 and 1/3 respectively regardless of mana, though I have received a couple cases of PW killing more than 1/2. The PW and winter both will do damage to your KD as well as kill rodents. | High |
| 200% | Summon Animals | Fiercer than rodents, animals will run through a kingdom eating food, attacking population, and lowering morale. You can Summon Beasts to eat the Summoned Animals. Animals summoned are Effects and have no duration. Each turn taken reduces the power by half until reaching 1k mana and then dissipates. | High |
| 400% | Summon Beasts | These large beasts rampage through a kingdom devouring population and troops. Beasts summoned are Effects and have no duration. Each turn taken reduces the power by half until reaching 1k mana and then disapates. Poison Water with reasonable mana kills Beasts. Summoned Beasts will eat any Summoned Animals. | High |
| 1000% | Summon Dragons | Fire-breathing dragons will strafe a Kingdom causing a maximum of 10% destruction of all buildings, troops and population. The dragons also destroy up to 10% of the kingdoms war machines. Fighters are the main force to protect your kingdom from dragons. Rangers and archers help out. War machines provide minimal building protection. | Medium |
| 1400% | Meteor Strike | Burning masses of rock fall from the heavens eradicating troops and buildings. Hard to direct, these meteors strike and destroy with unpredictable efficiency. Mages can sometimes foresee the point of impact and warn your people. Unfortunately they can't move your buildings. | High |
| 1500% | Warp Lightning | Terrible bolts of energy flow through a kingdom's troops killing many. Warp lightning does up to 17% damage to all troops, but only if they are equipped with weapons and/or armor. If they don't have enough weapons or armor for every troop, then maximum damage is reduced down to 6.25%. the maximum damage the troop gets depends on if it has hardware or not. ie some get 17% some get 6.25%. The maximum damage done to equipment is 5.5% and the quality of the weapons and armor have no impact on the damage. Mages resist Warp Lightning and reduce the damage. | Low |
| 1600% | Summon Demons | Maximum duration is 3 turns. Mischievous and malicious in the worst ways, once summoned these beings will cast random offensive spells upon a kingdom. The spells cast by the Demons have three times as much mana as you put in. The spells the Demons cast can have a duration and cannot be dispelled. Note: Some spellcasters will cast a duration BLESS spell before casting this demons spell - because one of the spells the demons might randomly cast is FIRE. (excellent combo for HOLYFIRE against werewolve & vampire races; goodluck!) | High |
| 3000% | Frenzy | Maximum duration is 6 turns. Your army grows enraged and senseless, doing 30% extra Damage in battle. Your population is also effected by this madness and may destroy some buildings. This is a less powerful version of the Bloodlust special used by Orcs and Ogres. Even 1000 mana per turn make this spell to work at full power. More mana just reduces the number of buildings destroyed. Note: This spell is highly valuable; usually when a kingdom learns it he/she then makes scrolls to be traded to other kingdoms within his/her alliance. (although watchout for those scroll theiving halflings!!) | Low |
