General

Q. How do I get more turns?

A. You get a turn every 30 minutes. The max turns you may have is 200. When you start a new kingdom you get 150 turns, however it is recommended to save up turns until you 200 at which point then you should start your kingdom. There are different strategies for using turns, most people like to save up to 200 if at all possible.

Edit: You now start with 200 turns, and turns per hour varies by universe. - HS

Q. I can't create a kingdom in ElysianField, it keeps saying that the draft already started?

A. ElysianFields is a special universe that only allows kingdom creation during a designated time window. Players sign up for the draft in general mail. Captains are self nominated but must have experience with the game and knowledge of the players. The captains then pick teams using the players that registered for the draft. The game administrators reset EF after all of this has happened and then allow kingdoms to be created usually for a week or so. The admins then assign kingdoms to alliances based on the draft picks. The draft then starts.

Starting

Q. What is the first thing I should do when making a new kingdom?

Getting Started has more information to answer this question.
A. Save until you have 200 turns (this is the max you can save). Then proceed to build 16 parts Market Places, then 12 parts Coliseums. After you finish this start to build Villages (and check to see if you can hire enough Laborers to build 2 village parts/turn). Match your Population with marketplaces and cols. This will maximize your early game income. No race should end with less than 20k population 1 full market place (30 land) and col for all your population (32 land). Many races can actually do much more than this, but the races with bad building ability and exploration should never come out with less than this as your economy early game.

There are many strategies to use during your first 200 turns, With some Races you can destroy your 35 of your starting granaries, your armories and vaults. thou it seems bad to destroy buildings from the start, it can actually benefit you by saving you turns searching for land. Also of shadowmere involves the utilization of your land. if you can utilize your land well you can run a successful kingdom with very few drawbacks. Your ability to make a lot of gold per turn is one of the most important things within the game.

You can also use the spell aphrodisia to boost your moral effectively increasing your gold gained per turn.

Never "waste" turns during the first 200 turns, Don't search for maps unless you plan on looking for an ally or attacking someone. Don't search the unknown, its relatively pointless early on.

You may choose to sell items on the open market, but this may decrease your defenses as most players are trying to either build as much defense as possible or make the biggest attacking force they can during the first 200 turns.

Also another thing to remember is that Outposts are one of the key points to success.

Before staring a new kingdom,, go to the test server and try a kd there figure out what you like and then plan your first 200 turns before you move so that you'll have a good assessment of what to do.

Warfare

Q. How do I attack?

A. Attacking is usually a two part process. The main goal (usually) in attacking an enemy kingdom is to take his land. To do this you normally begin with what is called "prepping". This means Raiding, Bombarding, spelling, or Assassination your target in order to weaken his defenses. Then you perform military attacks to take the targets land. Spells such as Frenzy and Just Cause cast on yourself can help you during Military Attack as well. Some choose to take on a full on war of nothing but military attacks, it allows more attack on the kingdom towards taking land.

A sound strategy as well is to limit the number of retaliations you give out to a single enemy. For every aggressive action you conduct against a kingdom they are entitled an aggressive action against you. A common practice is to "stack" you back. Meaning they get a buddy to hit you with ten aggressive actions followed by their retaliations. This could be a total of twenty aggressive actions done to you and makes it much more difficult to hold your land if it is done properly.
