General Study

General Study

Definition

General study is that of which is not a magic sphere (Nature Magic, Chaos Magic, Life Magic, Death Magic, Illusion/Mind Magic, Enchantment Magic) or Weapons/Armor/War Machines/Troops. That is, it does include: Economy (Econ), Construction skill (build), and Magic Skill.

Description

Unlike the magic spheres, the other realms of study are independent, that are, the more one realm is studied, it does not affect how quickly you will progress in others. To Elaborate:

if you have 300% Econ, and it is going up 10% a turn, you can switch to studying build and it may go up even 100% for a turn. Unlike the Magic spheres, where if you switched to another sphere, it would still only go up 10%.

These areas of study actually how well you perform in each area, unlike the magic spheres which only allow you to learn more spells. To Elaborate:

The higher your econ, the more gold you will get per turn from taxes. The higher your construction, the more buildings & equipment you can make in one turn, and the higher your magic skill the more more mana your population produce. These studied also effect the racial 'specials' of a few races (such as dwarven gold mining, dark elf use of dark power etc.)

First Study Run Strategy

When you are ready to do your first study run (which should be fairly early on, maybe even the first thing you do after you get your kd (kingdom) up and running) you will want to buy as many scholars as you can house and feed and afford. You definitely want at the minimum 10k (ten thousand) scholars. You will want to study the three areas of general study (economy, construction, magic skill) until you are only improving it about or less than 10 percent per turn. At this point any increase you would obtain, would merely be a waste of turns. You will also of course want to study a magic sphere at this point also, for further elaboration on that subject, I suggest reading help on studying magic, either in this wiki help file (How to study) or asking other players, as this is dependent upon your race.
