Current Status

Spell names, study levels and descriptions were amalgamated from the text in the shadowmere.de help files and the Compendium. The wordings were updated to make the explanations more accurate. Mana usage is a work in progress. Low = effectiveness almost guaranteed with any amount of mana, Medium = spell either inherently needs decent mana or many Kingdoms will carry the appropriate defense, High = spell inherently needs lots of mana and/or most Kingdoms carry appropriate defense, Proportional = depends on what you are doing, Precise = what you put in is directly tied to the result (i.e. Dispel, etc.) Please help! Life Spells

Changes currently in effect on the Testserver:

Study Spell Description Mana Use
100% Bless Max duration 25 turns. Reduces the Weapons/Armor immunity of Vampires. When a fire is cast on a blessed kingdom it combines into purgatory. You automatically begin with this spell. Bless reduces the effect of morale below 100% in combat (reduces likelihood of a flee in military combat). Low
300% Choir of Cherubim Max duration 20 turns. Decreases mortality rates and increases fertility to bring your population back to your lands faster than usual. (For example after hiring troops from your population, or after being attacked.) Low
500% + 800% Nature Purgatory Max duration 3 turns. Can be longer if created via combo. Send a holy flame through your enemy's lands to destroy buildings and kill troops (max 10% of each.) Vampires and Werewolves cannot regenerate military lost in this way and resist it weakly. Purgatory is resisted by Clerics. AS AT 16 DEC 2011: presently any troops killed by purgatory that is created by a combo can not be regenned, healed or resurrected - regardless of race. High, Low against Vampires
800% Fasting Max duration 20 turns. Decreases the amount of food your populations eats each turn. Maximum effect is a reduction of 33%. Note this only applies to your population; not your military, laborers or scholars. Mana required for max effect is about 25-30% of your population over 20 turns. Low
900% Living Armor Max duration 10 turns. Increases the ability of all races except Vampires and Werewolves to use armor. The gain depends on mana usage, and can be up to 20%. For example: A sprite has a 10% armor usage mod. So the max TOTAL effect they could get from this spell is having a 12% usage mod. (only while spell is in effect) High
1000% Healing Max duration 1 turn. Cures up to 30% of your recently lost troops and brings them back. Only cures up to 10% if cast by others. It permanently destroys up to 12.5% of a vampire kingdoms army. Frees Ghouls from their undead existence.Healing is more efective removing Plague than Dispel. Low
1600% Valor Max duration 10 turns. Your fighting men and women hold their positions until their last breaths and further. The absorption of your army increases up to 15%. Spellpower (per turn) about a fifth of your total number of troops will give roughly +7.5% absorption. Getting to near 15% will take a LOT more mana. Works on attack and defence but can be dispelled. High
1800% Self Sacrifice Max duration 50 turns. Your fighters selflessly throw themselves into harms way to protect the other forces in your army. In Military Combat you will hence lose more fighters and less of everything else. Low
2000% Just Cause Max duration 10 turns. When attacking your troops fight with a holy fervour increasing your army's damage. Because of the great mental and physical strain your troops fight for a shorter time so they capture only 60% land of what they would normally. Just Cause only works against defenders with more land than the attacker, because your damage is multiplied by (land_of_target / land_of_attacker). (e.g., you have 2k land, opponent has 4k, your damage gets multiplied by 2 (from 4 / 2). Low
2500% Divine Prayer Max duration 1 turn. Calls the Guardian Spirits which counter Ghouls and Skeletons. 1 Spirit is enough to get the maximum effect. Against Vampires the spell destroys up to 15% buildings and drains some morale. It is resisted by Vampire Clerics. Low
3000% Resurrection Max duration 1 turn. Brings your fallen troops back to life after battle. Only works on those that died in your last 10 turns. Maximum effect is 50% (20% when cast by others) of deceased are returned. The more turns it has been since they died; the more mana required. When used on Vampires it permanently disintegrates up to 20% of their troops and population.Resurrection can destroy Death Barriers when it has 1.5 times the mana compared to the total Death Barrier (power * duration).If Resurrection have more mana than a Death Darrier per turn,will convert it into Confusion Barrier. Frees Skeletons from their undead existence. depends, low against Vampires
