Sprites

Roleplay Info

Sprites are the smallest and most magically inclined of all the races. Being small and weak, sprites must rely on large numbers to do what other races can do with less. They make up for some of their physical weakness by relying heavily on magic both in war and in peace. Sprite armies can use powerful destructive spells to weaken an enemy and then attack them with their superior mages and good clerics. They can spy very easily by using their natural telepathic ability and may harness their mental prowess to shatter enemy minds. They prefer their superior magic and battle to underhanded methods such as theft and assassination and being whimsical and flighty creatures they will not attack easily unless provoked.

Strengths

Superior Mana generation, superior Mages, good Clerics, and low food consumption.

Weaknesses

Very high Mutiny, very poor building skills, poor food production, poor Fighters, Rangers, Thieves, and Assassins, terrible at covert operations, and very poor use of Weapons and Armor.

Special Ability

Scrying - All sprites will gather in meditation and wield magic to learn more about an enemy. The magic overwhelms the targets minds, and thus the enemy cannot detect the source of sprites special scrying.

Shatter - Using their superior spellcrafting, sprites can strike at their enemies' minds lowering troop percentages.

A First 200 Turns 'Guide'

So you have decided to learn the magical ways of tiny winy sprites, they are the masters of magic and knowledge - there is no other race in the world of Shadowmere who can rival their mana, they produce best mages known in the halls of Open Market. However being tiny as they are they have most awful building skills - one would think that everything can be solved with magic.... - So be prepared to curse many hours on how poorly they build - it is your biggest weakness. Their first 200 turns is quite a micromanagement of the kingdom, so be aware - here we go young padawan.

First and foremost, you have to store to 200 turns.

Once you login, you should destroy(or sell if u want) all your war machines, destroy most granaries, all your armouries(5) and sell all your food. You might study Magic Skill for 1 turn and then cast Midas Touch. I'd suggest you cast Midas touch every 7th turn or so.

Your First Goals are: 2500 laborers, 10,000 population, 23 Coliseums, 30 Market Places. Some of this you start with.

Start of by building Coliseums. Then start building more villages, keep casting Midas Touch when needed and keep hiring Laborers. If you run out of land, search for land for 1 turn only (reason for this is that you want to give your training fields maximum time to train your rangers and since as a sprite your build mod is very poor you cant build up large quantities anyway thus you don't need a lot of land). DO NOT FORGET TO BUILD BARRACKS!!!You should be able to get 2500 laborers soon enough. Keep eye on your food production and build necessary farms when needed. Once you have 2500 laborers your goal is to get 5000 laborers. So keep hiring laborers and building villages and supporting Coliseums and Market Places till you have reached all the first goals.

Your next goals are: 5000+ laborers (if you haven't already of course), 2500+ rangers, 120 Villages, 32 Coliseums.

Get 5k laborers first, then go for rangers all this whilst building more villages, supporting farms and barrack space and the coliseums. Once you have 2500 rangers you can start searching for land for 1-3 turns, your own choice. Once you have enough gold, hire 2000 fighters. As you keep building you will notice that you are starting to run short of food and barrack space, so keep eye on those. Once you have 2000 fighters, start hiring Archers - your goal is to get 3000 archers and 3000 clerics.

Your final goals are 5000 labourers, 2500 rangers, 2000 fighters, 3000 clerics/archers 6000-8000 mages(with enough barrack space), 120 villages, 30 Market Places and 32 Coliseums(with supporting farms). As you approach to the end of your turns you should keep hiring mages and last turns build as many Outposts as you can (I managed 10) which actually gives pretty good defense. My last turn I casted last Midas Touch and hired out on mages. I ended up at 17k score with good defence and good amount of buildings

Next set of turns You can either wait to get another 200 or move the next day up to you, your goals should be now to get 6000 scholars and study Economy and Construction to 200%, Magic Skill to 300-400% and some spells.

Some Tips for sprite players

When you get raided or bombed, do not waste turns to rebuild all the land. Only build up the necessary first set and leave rest of the land unbuilt. Unbuild land will serve you as a defence buffer. In beginning never soften your target with bombs/raids, what you want is built up land therefore use your special to soften the target and take built up land. Later in game once u have studied your construction skill, you can use other means to soften if you wish. Use your specials, they are very good and powerful specials.

SELL MAGES AND CLERICS!

Good luck and have fun.
