The Horde

If you're not Horde, you're food.

The Horde represents the evil in the world of Dan in Shadowmere. It is consisted by the children of the Demon Lord, so all the Horde members must worship Demon Lord and Demon Lord alone.

To be part of The Horde means to follow the ways of the Demon Lord. All members have to dedicate themselves in serving the Lord of The Horde. They ought to carry out the orders of the Demon Lord, even if that may result to great losses for their kingdoms; serving The Horde can be done in many ways, even with self sacrifice for the greater good of the alliance. And the word of the Demon Lord is never to be questioned by any of his children, as well as the orders of the Generals and the Captains that are treated as coming from Demon Lord himself (sometimes they really are). Another basic part of the ways is that Horde members must always be slaying the unfaithful (meaning those that do not worship the Great Lord of The Horde), especially those that are in the Blood List. Those who are conquered by the followers of the Demon Lord are forced to bend knee and worship the master of these conquerors or join the slain in the netherworld. And the Horde members are of course always to see that The Horde becomes as more powerful as it can be, with total domination of Dan in Demon Lord's name being their focus. It is apparent that those that fail to follow the ways of the Demon Lord are cast out of The Horde and are treated like all other infidels. To betray or double cross The Horde or one of your Horde brothers and sisters is to betray Demon Lord, and all that do so are instantly sentenced to death upon proof of their blasphemous intents and acts.

The Horde is not only bonded by the Laws of the Demon Lord but by The Honor of Rank as well. The Ranks of the Demon Lord's followers do not use titles like Priest, or Bishop; rather they use a more military system. The rulers of Horde kingdoms who are most proven and serve Demon Lord for ages now, are known as Generals. Beneath the Generals are the Captains, as dedicated to Demon Lord as Generals but with somewhat different duties in The Horde. Lieutenants are next in the rank line, being the first commanding rank, followed by the Horde Warriors. The Lowest rank is the rank of the Grovelers: those who were forced to bend knee or joined with their free will but haven't met the requirements to be raised to Warriors yet. Any Weaker kingdom can rise in rank through a successful challenge of a kingdom of higher rank. Followers of Demon Lord that are usually not accepted yet in The Horde alliance as Grovelers, but were forced to worship him are known as Horde Slaves.

Ranks and notes:

Overlords

Requirements:

Must have met the requirements for The Rank of Captain

And be the # 1 kingdom in forgotten worlds' universe of Dan

And know and play all the ways and rules of the Horde. Must have proven that they are all Horde, and willing to fight anyone and everyone that calls the Horde and Demon Lord wrongfully

And have recruited members into the horde, and helped all under them in need. If a request for help is asked, an overlord just takes it into immediate consideration and makes sure that the request, if reasonable, is given.

Or: Be the Avatar of the Demon Lord

The Rank of Overlord is reserved for those kingdoms that are the best of the best or the most devoted to the horde, or are Him made flesh. These also are strong enough that they would not need The Horde's strength and thus they are in it because they believe in its goal and have joined to bring the dark order of The Horde together in one mass group and conquer all that oppose. The word of an Overlord may be taken as coming for the Demon Lord Himself be it command or promise. These Kingdoms are to handle anything a General can not. What more is required of them is between the Demon Lord and his Overlords

Generals

Requirements:

Must have met the requirements for The Rank of Captain.

And shown that they are ready to take on anyone and everyone. Must be ready and willing for war, and able to help all in need

And be able to hold the responsibility of all under them, and be able to make tough decisions

And able to recruit new members to the horde.

The Rank of General is the rank of supreme organization. These are the players who are known well enough that their names are a lone attract of followers to The Demon Lord. They should be the epitome of the ideals of The Demon Lord. For their long service to the Horde they are rewarded with Command over all ranks under that of Overlord. The Demon Lord will perform any wonder they wish as long as he has the mana to do so. The generals are the mortal leaders of the Horde; they choose who goes on the blood list and are able to give kingdoms the rank of Warrior at any time. These added powers also have more burdens. If a Captain sends a request for aid or a wonder to the Demon Lord the Generals may be asked to arrange the aid or perform it themselves. Like the Captains the rank of general is voluntary and those wishing to be promoted must request that promotion.

Captains

Requirements:

Must have proven to excel in all Horde rules, and ways, and must have shown undivided loyalty to the horde and Demon Lord

And enslave 4 kingdoms from the Blood List

And helped kingdoms grow in strength in order to have The Horde's strength itself grow. Must have the will to fight, and have excelled at the race they are commanding.

The Rank of Captain is the first Fanatic rank. These kingdoms' loyalty has been tested to the point that their only goal in this game is to see The Horde as the most powerful force in Shadowmere. As reward they hold command over anyone beneath the rank of General and have reached the first level where the request for wonders are taken seriously. All lower ranks that wish a wonder preformed must ask a Captain to make their request for a wonder. The Captain will evaluate this request and if he can provide the needed aid he will; if not, then and only then will he send a request to The Demon Lord. To become a Captain you must send a prayer (mail) to the Demon Lord asking to be given the rank since it does add work so that some kingdoms' rulers may choose not to be promoted.

Lieutenants

Requirements:

Enslave 2 kingdoms from the Blood List

And proven to have skill in leadership

And shown great devotion to the horde and its goals.

The Rank of Lieutenant is the first command rank. These kingdoms have excelled as Warriors and have taken the gathering of new Horde members into the alliance as their personal mission. They have earned the right to command Warriors, and Grovelers, but with more power come greater burdens and duties. Lieutenants are required to assist Grovelers in reaching the rank of warrior, and help gather ALL horde members into a single body. On extremely rare occasions if an extremely powerful kingdom joins of its ruler's own free will, the ruler may be asked to act as a Lieutenant. This is the highest rank without a term of service requirement.

Warriors

Requirements:

Proven to excel in the ways of the horde, and able to successfully run a kingdom

Or enslave one kingdom from the blood list or have a promotion given by a General (Greater ranked officers have the ability to demand from a General to give promotion to a Groveler)

And have shown great kill in the field of war.

The Rank of Warrior is for those in the Horde who prove they are willing to follow the ideals of The Horde. The actions of these kingdoms show they take their devotion to The Horde seriously. This rank SHOULD be the largest in numbers. They have command over any Grovelers in The Horde and the respect of The Horde as a whole. On rare occasions enemies who have held off the hordes assault for many days are asked to join directly as Warriors (by some of the rank of General or higher) out of respect for their strength.

Grovelers

Requirements:

Entered the horde of their own free will but have not proven themselves totally to the horde

And shown the skills that the horde values.

The rank of Grovelers is for those kingdoms' rulers new to the Horde who either due to their kingdom's strength or time have not yet met the requirements to be raised higher in ranks. Being the second lowest rank they are only able to command slaves.

NOTE: The training ground for Grovelers and Slaves of The Horde is the alliance called Hell's Horde. A Lieutenant is usually asked to run Hell's Horde and is given the temporal title of Hell Hound as long as he is in charge there.
